There is nothing that brings people together like an old fashioned 4th of July celebration. If you are looking for a spot to take in the majesty without a long trek to the beach, check out these fun options. The Eastside has it all, from the quintessential hometown parades and local park fireworks to massive pyrotechnic displays.

2019 Fourth of July Festival of Balloons - South Pasadena

The City of South Pasadena is celebrating its 38th annual Festival of Balloons. The festival kicks off with a pancake breakfast followed by a parade and celebration in the park and culminates with a firework show at 9:00 pm. Get all the details here

Rose Bowl- Pasadena

Let's start things off with a SoCal tradition: the Rose Bowl is hosting its 93rd AmericaFest. Pre-fireworks performances include TNT Freestyle Motocross, a preview of the new Apollo 11 immersive live show, and Disney's DCappella Live Lion King Performance. The stadium has a clear bag policy, so no backpacks or other large bags and cases. Parking is always a consideration at the Rose Bowl and starts at $50 ($40 if you pre-purchase), so you'll want to plan ahead. Get all the details here

Dodger Stadium  - Echo Park

Dodger Stadium hosts fireworks on Friday nights throughout the season, but they do it up extra on the 4th of July. Buy tickets to see the team take on the San Diego Padres (on either the 4th or the 5th) and then stick around for a fireworks show you can see from your seat; line up on the field level near the end of the game and you can even watch from the outfield grass. Grand Park - Downtown Los Angeles

The 4th of July Block Party at Grand Park is another free event. Expect to "chill, munch, dance, splash, play and top it off with fireworks under the DTLA skyline." You can bring your own food to picnic, but no coolers and no outside drinks. You can fill your empty plastic bottles at water fountains in the park, and vendor booths will provide more food and drink options.  Get all the details here

The Starlight Bowl - Burbank

The Starlight Bowl presents Big Bad Voodoo Daddy in an American celebration: a night filled with swinging music and a July 4th Fireworks Spectacular.  Get all the details here

4th of July Fair and Fireworks - La Crescenta

The Crescenta Valley Fireworks Association presents its Fair and Fairworks, with games, rides, food booths, arts & crafts, character appearances, inflatables and bouncers, and, of course, fireworks. The band for this year's 4th is Stinky Felix. Gates close at 8:30pm, half an hour before the fireworks begin. Buying tickets in advance helps to save on long lines at the gate. San Marino 4th of July Celebration

The annual celebration features a community parade, a Family Fun Zone (with rides, games, and carnival booths), and a fireworks display at 9pm accompanied by live music. All guests need a wristband to enter the park. Pre-sale wristbands will be available to San Marino residents for $5 each and non-residents for $15 each through July 3, 2019. July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at Universal Studios Hollywood
