Atwater Village
Atwater Village is a charming neighborhood located in northeast Los Angeles. It is known for its diverse community, local attractions, restaurants, and schools. The area is one of the most walkable neighborhoods on the East Side and considered one of the friendliest. Glendale Boulevard is always buzzing with new stores and restaurants popping up. Atwater Village has a strong sense of community, as seen in its Sunday Farmers’ Market, annual Block Party, and neighborhood strolls with the Urban Lumberjack. The area offers a laid-back vibe with stylish homes and bungalows that proliferate along the tree-lined streets, built in various architectural styles such as Mediterranean, English Tudor, Spanish Colonial Revival, California Craftsman, and Fantasy.

First on our list is Dune, a casual joint that serves some of the best falafels in the city. Dune is known for its excellent falafel sandwiches, but it also offers other delicious options like hummus plates, salads, and sourdough toasts. Next up is Proof Bakery, where every morning, Na Young Ma, the baker and owner of Proof Bakery, is in the kitchen baking pastries, cakes, quiche, bread, and more. With a daily-changing menu, it's tough to choose just one thing, but their croissants are a clear crowd-pleaser, especially when paired with Cognoscenti coffee. For lunchtime, grab one of their delicious sandwiches made with bread baked fresh that very morning. Club Tee Gee is another must-visit business in Atwater Village. After undergoing a major renovation in 2018, the 75-year-old dive bar returned with a bang. It now boasts a roster of live music, monthly dance parties, and karaoke nights. The spacious patio in the back is perfect for enjoying a drink with friends on a warm evening.
